A key opportunity is to connect the CTC directly to 96th Street.
The Connectivity Report showed the connection between the CTC and 96th
Street is feasible. The estimated cost of the connection is approximately one
million dollars. Funding for the connection could come from a partnership
through a number of sources including: the metro-district, the property owners,
and the City. Staff suggested the next steps were for staff to continue
partnership conversations with the CTC metro-district and return to City Council
with a specific proposal.
In general, the City Council was favorable of the connection. Concerns were
raised to the slope of 96th Street and the City ability to keep the street plowed
during the winter, traffic operations on Hwy 42, and maintaining the rural
aesthetics of the 96th Street corridor.
Planning Director Russ referred to the Study regarding the slope of the roadway
and traffic operations. He stated both issues raised were addressed adequately
in the Connectivity report
City Manager's Report:
Deputy City Manager Heather Balser discussed the recent flood damage.
