SIMMONS <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />DATE: January 25,2006 <br />SUBJECT: City Council/Staff Ethics Training <br />ORIGINATING DEPARTMENT: City Manager's Office <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br />Members of the City Council and former Council member Michelle Van Pelt, as well as the <br />City's directors will participate in a training session to be presented by Scotty Krob, scheduled <br />from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. in the Municipal Court Room. Mr. Krob has been retained by the <br />City one time only, specifically for this engagement, and has not conducted any other legal <br />work for Louisville. His resume is attached for your reference. <br /> <br />The training session will focus on the City of Louisville's Code of Ethics, and a copy of Article 5, <br />"Open Government and Ethics" of the Louisville Home Rule Charter is attached for your review <br />and reference. There are also provisions of the Colorado State Statutes that address ethics <br />and these will be reviewed, however Louisville's code is more restrictive.
