<br />transmitted such Resolution and recommended Comprehensive Plan 2005 Update to the City <br />Council at ajoint meeting of the City Council and Planning Commission on June 20, 2005; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has held duly noticed public hearing sessions to review and <br />gather public input on the Comprehensive Plan 2005 Update, which sessions were held on June 20, <br />June 21, July 5, July 12, August 2 and August 16,2005; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has completed its review of the Comprehensive Plan 2005 <br />Update and desires to approve and adopt such Plan in its final form as set forth in Exhibit A; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a need exists to update the current 1989 <br />Comprehensive Plan; that the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan 2005 Update will promote the <br />health, safety, and welfare of the present and future residents of the City through facilitating the <br />adequate provision of transportation, water resources, utility infrastructure, parks, recreation, <br />schools, and other public requirements, while maintaining the level of services provided by all <br />service sector departments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Comprehensive Plan 2005 Update will serve the <br />general purpose of guiding and accomplishing coordinated and harmonious development ofthe City <br />and its environs, and that such Plan is a sound and appropriate long-term guide for the planning and <br />development of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Planning Commission and City Council have <br />duly considered all matters relevant and applicable to an update ofthe citywide Comprehensive Plan; <br />that the Comprehensive Plan 2005 Update embodies a community-based vision for the City, and that <br />the Plan contains all necessary principals, policies, goals, plans and implementation strategies for <br />land use, transportation, economic development, fiscal health, housing, parks, recreation, open space, <br />community character, urban design, community services, utilities and other matters the Planning <br />Commission and City Council have determined to be appropriate for inclusion in the Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City Council finds that the Comprehensive Plan 2005 Update meets all <br />applicable requirements and should be approved, and further finds and recognizes that the Plan is a <br />community-based document that should and will be subject to periodic review and update. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />1. The City of Louisville Comprehensive Plan 2005 Update, in the form attached hereto as <br />Exhibit A, is hereby approved and adopted by the City Council ofthe City of Louisville, Colorado. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this I 6th day of August, 2005. <br /> <br />2 <br />
