Old Louisville Inn PUD:
Economic Development Director Aaron DeJong went over the Old
Louisville Inn (OLI) plan for expansion. OLI is in a floodplain. They are
seeking a variance to not have to raise the new floor two feet.
Commissioner Lathrop asked a question about additional parking and
DeJong replied that if the addition is less than 1000 sf, no additional
parking is required.
d. Draft 2014 LRC Budget:
$200,000 could be generated from TIF by November 2014.
Chair Becker asked what projects align with the criteria for use of funds?
Commissioner Menaker suggested banking the money, committing it to
the South Street Underpass or paying down interest obligations.
Commissioner Lathrop suggested banking the money and likes the idea of
a "nest egg". Commissioner Gorsevski concurs with Menaker. Menaker
suggested LRC look at items that benefit multiple parcels, items that
impact a high percentage of the Urban Renewal Area.
Chair Becker stated that we have the filters for decision making but do we
have the mechanism for someone to bring a project to LRC?
Commissioner Tofte suggested that too many rules may limit what is
possible and thinks LRC is accessible.
Becker stated the budget will be approved in December.
Public Comments:
Commissioners' Comments —
New items for Next Meeting January , 2013
•Commissioner Lathrop would like an update on the Gateway Project
•Sam Light said that a Public Hearing and adoption of the Budget will be
required.
Meeting Adjourned at 8:52 AM
