Business Retention & Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 4, 2013 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />Chair Sackett said he campaigned on “Small Town” – can we break Louisville into several <br />district , each with its distinct uniqueness? <br />RETENTION MEETINGS: <br /> Councilmember Jasiak went to the Singing Cook. They feel decisions seem to back up <br />restaurants and they want to distinguish retail from restaurants. Food trucks downtown <br />would give people more time to shop. They feel disconnected from the Arts Districts. <br /> Economic Development Director DeJong visited Eleanor’s. Owner Tracy Hobbs said <br />things are going very well and they are ahead of estimates. She was frustrated at the <br />building permit process. <br /> DeJong and Fleming visited Solid Power Battery. Doug Campbell as three different <br />businesses and is looking for additional space. He likes a Louisville location. <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIEFING: <br />th <br /> The CTC Metro District board and city staff are researching a new 96 <br /> Street connection <br />into the CTC area. Metro District has provided funding in their 2014 budget. <br /> DeJong said there is a business interested in doing a 1031 Exchange on the Sam’s Club <br />building. The interested investors have not revealed their identity. <br /> The Umberto’s site is now an active listing. <br />COMMENTS: <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING: <br /> Appointment of new Chair <br />ADJOURN – The meeting adjourned at 9:28 am. <br />4 <br />
