The Dell solution will provide the appropriate enterprise
storage capacity, redundancy and performance while allowing for growth as City IT
shifts the legacy server environment to virtualization. Dell is proposing a unique small
business solution bundle which includes an Appassure disk based disaster recovery
(backup) system which other vendors are unable to provide at a comparable cost.
City IT has a long purchasing history with Dell and has a high level of satisfaction with
Dell pricing, solutions and support.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total cost of the Dell solution is $64,697. The 2014 approved CIP funding
associated with the IT Strategic Initiative R -1 is $90,000.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the purchase of the Dell solution in the
amount of $64,696.62.
ATTACHMENT(S):
1.
