Mayor Andrew Muckle stated it would depend
on whether the hotel wanted the Town to operate the conference space, but generally
hotels operate their own facilities. Council member Lipton stated it would depend upon
the hotel's business model.
Council member Lipton stated he assumed there would be a restaurant or other
services, such as a spa, and Mayor Andrew Muckle stated there is not a development
application before the Board.
Council member Stolzmann agreed there are certain components of hotel services that
pay a retail sales tax but commercial use was not written into the IGA, retail generated
sales tax was written into the IGA.
Mayor Pro Cirelli stated the Town is interested in getting the most viable development,
which will generate as much sales tax revenue as soon possible.
