City Council <br /> Study Session Summary <br /> October 22,2013 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> PUD. The economy is good in Louisville. The Gateway has been approved and <br /> it will be a vital connection between the east and west sides of town. <br /> The LRC is funding $280,000 in infrastructure improvements in the Safeway <br /> redevelopment. <br /> The LRC has had a lot of outreach with other Boards. Commissioner Menaker <br /> thanked previous Board members for their hard work in laying the foundation. <br /> Chair Karl Becker said the Board has built a foundation and it is paying off. They <br /> have refined the mission and guiding principles around: advocacy, analyses and <br /> action. He said they have been very proactive and are beginning to work with <br /> the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC). <br /> Commissioner Menaker said the group has been very conservative in the fiscal <br /> modeling for TIF revenues. <br /> The Highway 42 project is very important and significant changes on the road are <br /> coming. <br /> Commissioner Tofte said that planning has finally come to fruition and that <br /> projects are moving ahead. This past year, the LRC stepped back so that <br /> everyone could be brought up to speed and that has benefited the group. <br /> Commissioner Gorsevski said that previous projects have moved very slowly. <br /> Now, projects like the Gateway, Coal Creek Crossing and Alfalfa's are moving <br /> forward and many great things are coming. He thanked previous board <br /> members for their hard work. <br /> Commissioner Menaker said that the King Sooper Plaza is for sale and hopefully <br /> the new buyers will not be absentee owners. <br /> The Mayor commented that what was presented in the Council Communication is <br /> a good list to work on. Chair Becker has been a great Chair for the LRC. He <br /> also thanked Economic Director DeJong for the legwork on behalf of the LRC. <br /> The Mayor and Deputy City Manager provided an update on RAMP funding. The <br /> City's application did not receive approval for the $11 million it requested. <br /> However the City is working to have funding for the project included on the <br /> MPAC 64 list, which is a proposal to go to the voters in 2014 for a revenue <br /> increase to support transportation improvements throughout the state. <br /> The gasline improvement is proceeding and construction is ongoing in 2014-15. <br /> Councilmember Jasiak thanked the LRC's effort to coordinate with HPC. <br /> Councilmember Sackett is happy the City can see its own potential. <br />
