However, with a new city clerk and a new l <br />mayor, the usual procedure of utilizing the sign up cards i <br />for notification that a member of the public wished to speakt <br />to an agenda item was not followed. As a result, I was not <br />afforded the opportunity to speak and thel"efore become part <br />of the record. <br /> <br />I would like this letter and the following information that <br />I intended to read into the record to in fact become part of <br />the record: <br /> <br />Mr. Mayor and Members of Council: <br /> <br />My name is Carol Lathrop. I reside at 235 Hoover <br />Court, Louisville and own property at 830 W. Cherry St. <br />which is immediately adjacent on the west to the <br />proposed annexation. <br />Our property, slightly less than one acre, is zoned <br />Commercial Business. <br /> <br />I-am not opposed to the annexation of the property or <br />the residential zoning in the area, however, I am <br />concerned that the annexation proposal before you <br />requests residential zoning that would abut to <br />established commercially zoned property. <br /> <br />When we annexed into the city with the Commercial <br />Business zoning, this same issue was raised by Planning <br />Commission and City Council and it was felt that if the <br />adjoining land to the east of us was to annex in as <br />residential, than a buffer zone or transitional use <br />should be included in that annexation to lessen the <br />inherent conflict that would result from a commercial <br />operation abutting or adjoining a residential area.
