Keany was concerned about a big box, blank wall appearance. He pointed out that there are serious
limits on signage.

Lathrop concerned with the south elevation and its visual contact with Dyer Road.

Mayer moved that Council refer Parcel L 1, Eagle Hardware, to the Planning Commission with
Council comments. Seconded by Lathrop. All in favor.

DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - COFFEE COUNTRY - LOT 9 PARCEL 0 - SIGNAGE
ALLOCATION

Paul Wood, Planning Commission, stated that the signage is below the 48 s.f allowed, but it is a split
display which is not allowed.

Davidson called for the applicant's presentation.

Mary Kay Hoagland, Coffee Country, asked that Council approve the sign wrapping around the
architectural feature in the photos she presented.

Levihn felt that as long as the sign met the square footage, there was not a problem.

Keany did not have trouble with the sign.

Mayer looked back at Council direction and the monument sign had been eliminated and Suite 1 had
been limited to one wall sign on the north building elevation.

Lathrop suggested "Coffee Country" in a neon sign in the upper portion of the window that was
turned on when they were open and offwhen closed.

Hoagland felt that sign would not be as effective.

Sisk did not want the sign on for 24 hours/day.

Hoagland was willing to have the sign on only when they were open, approximately 6:00 a.m. until
10:00 p.m.

Don Shonkwiler, Homart Development, 400 South McCaslin, Louisville, Colorado, felt the sign was
consistent with the note on the PUD.

Davidson and Lathrop stated that this had been discussed in great detail at a previous meeting that
Shonkwiler had not attended and the limitation was made.

5
