<br />Horticulture & Forestry <br />Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />Thursday, January 9, 2014 <br />Spruce Room, City Hall <br />749 Main Street <br /> 7:00 <br />PM <br />I.Call to Order—Chair Mike Frontzcak called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. <br />II.Roll call—Board members present: Shelly Alm, Mike Frontzcak, Erik Gustafson, Gina <br />Lopez, Ellen Toon, Beverlee White. Board members absent: Neal Griggsmiller, Mark <br />Newland. Staff member present: Chris Lichty. <br />III.The agenda was approved by all members. <br />IV.The minutes from the Dec. 5, 2013 meeting were approved. <br />V.Public comment on Items not on the Agenda—No public present. <br />VI.Distribution of 2014 Open Government & Ethics Pamphlet; Distribution of Public <br />Involvement Policy; Approval of posting locations for ‘Notices of Public Meetings’; <br />Election of 2014 Officers—All materials distributed; posting locations approved; election <br />of 2014 officers postponed until February meeting. <br />VII.Schedule of Events for 2014—Emerald ash borer presentation by Chris and Erik on <br />Thursday, Feb. 27, 7:00 pm at the Rec Center. HFAB will arrive at 6:30 to help with set- <br />up. Chris will place on the City website a link to EAB information. Discussion of county <br />quarantine, advice for residents to be cautious when selecting a tree company for treatment <br />of ash trees. Seed starting seminar by Ryan Schmitt of Botanical Interests will take place <br />on Thursday, March 27 at 7:00 pm at the Rec Center. Arbor Day tree planting will be <br />Friday, April 18 at Fireside Elementary, time tba.
