City „/ Department of Planning and Building Safety <br />Lou soil k 749 Main Street # Louisville CO 80027 # 303.335.4592 # ww v.louisvilleco.gov <br />cotumuto <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Historic Preservation Commission Members <br />From: Department of Planning and Building Safety <br />Subject: Structures of Merit <br />Date: February 10, 2014 <br />Under Louisville Municipal Code Section 15.36.230, the HPC may designate <br />structures of merit as follows: <br />The commission may approve a list of structures of historical or <br />architectural merit that have not been designated as landmarks and are <br />not situated in designated historic districts, to which the commission may <br />add from time to time, in order to recognize and encourage the protection, <br />enhancement, and use of such structures. However, nothing in this <br />chapter shall be construed to impose any regulations or controls upon, or <br />to provide incentives or awards to, structures of merit solely because they <br />are included on the list. The commission may authorize such steps as it <br />deems desirable to recognize the merit of and to encourage the <br />protection, enhancement, perpetuation, and use of any listed structure or <br />of any designated landmark or any structure in a designated historic <br />district by, without limitation, issuing certificates of recognition and <br />authorizing plaques to be affixed to the exteriors of such structures. <br />There are not currently any structures of merit designated in the City. <br />
