SUBJECT:DISCUSSION OF RESIDENTIAL SINGLE HAULER WASTE CONTRACT RE- <br />BID <br />DATE:FEBRUARY 25, 2013 <br />PAGE2OF3 <br /> <br />Given the success of the current program, staff does not proposed any significant <br />changes to the base cost structure or other significant components of the program. <br />However, staff does propose the RFP ask respondents to provide <br />the following service options: <br /> <br /> Cost for weekly compost pickup, with trash and recyclables pickup alternating <br />every other week (trash one week and recyclables the next week) <br /> Cost savings if the City purchases and provides trash, compost, and recycling <br />totes. <br /> Cost for the City to be served by natural gas trucks. <br /> Cost for Contractor to provide leaf dropoff services in the fal <br /> RFID tracking enabling customers to access data regarding their <br />disposal and diversion. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />The City currently acts as a pass through for billing regarding <br />costs. The residential single hauler solid waste contract is an <br />approximately $1,100,000 - $1,200,000 per year.
