City Council Finance Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />02/18/14 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />NON-PROFIT GRANT PROGRAM – FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />RECOMMENDATIONS FOR 2014 <br />Finance Director Watson provided the Finance Committee with the <br />documentation to be presented to the full Council February 18, 2014. Also <br />included was a January 28, 2014 letter from Ms. Shari Edelstein outlining <br />possible recommendations for the future nonprofit allocation process. <br />The documentation and corresponding narrative can be located in the packet of <br />the February 18, 2014 Finance Committee Meeting. <br />SALES TAX REPORTS FOR THE MONTH ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2013 <br />The Tax Manager presented the monthly, quarterly and year-end sales tax <br />reports for the period ended December 31, 2013. <br />The Tax Manager also requested authorization to write-off $166.31 in <br />uncollectable tax, penalty and interest amounts. The Finance Committee <br />approved the request. <br />The Tax Manager requested feedback from Committee members as to whether <br />the current reporting detail, charts, and graphs provide sufficient information. <br />Council Member Stolzmann and City Manager Fleming stated that they would be <br />interested in having the area revenues for Downtown and Pine Street combined, <br />and the revenues for the areas of McCaslin North and the Interchange combined. <br />Council Member Keany stated that he would like to see the building use tax <br />revenue received from building permits allocated to the Capital Projects fund or <br />for other one-time projects, and not to the General Fund which is typically used <br />for ongoing operations. <br />The reports and the corresponding narrative can be located in the packet of the <br />February 18, 2014 Finance Committee Meeting. <br />CASH & INVESTMENTS REPORT AS OF JANUARY 31, 2014 <br />The Finance Director presented the monthly investment reports for the period <br />ended January 31, 2014. <br />The reports and the corresponding narrative can be located in the packet of the <br />February 18, 2014 Finance Committee Meeting. <br />3 <br />
