RESOLUTION NO. 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE <br /> COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE LOUISVILLE REVITALIZATION <br /> COMMISSION FOR THE HIGHWAY 42 REVITALIZATION AREA GATEWAY <br /> PROJECT FUNDING <br /> WHEREAS, the Louisville Revitalization Commission is charged with <br /> addressing issues contributing to blight within the Urban Renewal Area; and <br /> WHEREAS, property within the Urban Renewal Area has poor pedestrian and <br /> bicycle access to the downtown area; and <br /> WHEREAS, providing an underpass will help to encourage redevelopment in the <br /> Urban Renewal Area and increase safety; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Louisville is willing to construct the underpass, and the <br /> Louisville Revitalization Commission is willing to assist in its funding; and <br /> WHEREAS, the attached First Amendment to the Agreement is needed to extend <br /> the termination date. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LOUISVILLE CITY <br /> COUNCIL: <br /> Section 1. The First Amendment to the Cooperation Agreement for Highway <br /> 42 Revitalization Area Gateway Project Funding is hereby approved. <br /> Section 2.
