Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 10, 2014 <br />Page 6 of 11 <br />Robinson stated the period of significance is 1955 and the asbestos siding was put on 1946. <br />Watson why 1955 was chosen. <br />Robinson stated 1955 was the last time a member of the Austin Niehoff family lived there. <br />Fahey asked when did the family first move there. <br />Robinson stated they had the house built in 1878. <br />Watson stated we could always forego assistance from the state if we didn’t want to preserve <br />the structure with asbestos siding on it. <br />Fasick asked who we spoke with at the state. <br />Stewart stated Anne McCleave was the primary reviewer. <br />Back to the goals discussion. <br />Watson said we should include best practices in the goals for public outreach, place a tent at <br />the Street Faire, Park County who puts out a newsletter, Greeley sells coffee cups, an app that <br />takes you on a guided tour, etc. Maybe just pick one for general outreach. <br />Robinson said all of the plaques have a number that could correspond to this walking tour. <br />Stewart said maybe we can have a follow up on this walking tour idea. He said we could do a <br />joint tour with the Historic Commission. <br />Watson said maybe we can collaborate with the Historic Commission on public outreach so <br />share burdens. <br />Fahey stated she is a volunteer at the museum and asked to be considered the liaison to the <br />museum. <br />Everyone agreed. <br />Watson said the flyer could include success stories of the grant program. <br />Fahey asked if there could be a walking tour placed on the website. <br />Robinson said we can look into it. <br />Watson recommended the commission review the list and bring back a priority list at the next <br />meeting. <br />Fahey asked if we have reached all the goals set in the original preservation plan and maybe <br />consider making those the first priority. <br />
