Cultural Council
Meeting Minutes
DATE

CAST3 (the organization that represents tier 3 organizations in SCFD)
came together in anticipation of SCFD reauthorization process. Susan
attended a workshop on how to get money from foundations and provided
a handout about the foundation granting process. Susan described the
current evolution in art organizations as they move from
large structures to more grassroots organizations and smaller
associations.

SCFD Grant Report and Reporting Needs Denice and Susan did the
final report for the SCFD grant. This report was extremely time-consuming
but part of this was record keeping requirements. This year, we will try to
make this process easier by creating a process for collecting and
recording the data required for this report and the SCFD grant application.

CAST3 - There was not a lot to report at this time. SCFD is getting ready
to work on the legislation for a renewal of the SCFD tax for 2016.

VI.

The 2013 revenue reporting for the SCFD was 16,103.07. 2013 Revenue
sources were: $8,000 from the contribution buckets at the summer
concerts; $780 from City; Coal Creek $1500; SCFD $11,454; and, $4038
admissions.

The 2013 expenses were $15,821: Performers, approximately $1200 per
summer concert and mostly the rest went to the 80% of gate to musicians.
Additional expenses included the LCC newsletter and bookkeeping. The
2013 profits were $254.86.

We have about $16,000 operating and spent about $16,000. In the future
because we are changing our programming somewhat, and we have
added the lecture series, we will need to be conservative with our money.

The report, which included the LCC 5 year profit/loss comparison, should
be self-explanatory. The final balance sheet may change because the
report was done prior to the grant.

One of the questions that needs to be addressed is the amount that we
charge Glacier and The Huckleberry for their participation. In 2014, we
need to make it clear how the payments will be made and make sure all
the vendors are treated fairly.

Meredith will call Denice and let her know if the money was collected from
last year.
