City Council <br />Special Meeting Minutes <br />March 18, 2014 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />City Attorney Light introduced the requests for executive session. The City is requesting <br />the City Council convene an executive session for the purpose of consultation with an <br />attorney representing the City with respect to consideration of potential real property <br />acquisitions. <br />City Clerk Varra read Section 2.90.050 — Public statement of the Louisville Municipal <br />Code, which outlines the topics permitted for discussion in an executive session. <br />City Attorney Light stated the authority to conduct an executive session: (Louisville <br />Charter, Section 5 -2(c) — Authorized Topics — Consideration of real property <br />acquisitions, but only as to appraisals and other value estimates and strategy, and <br />C.R.S. 24- 6- 402(4)(a)). <br />MOTION: Mayor Muckle moved the City Council adjourn to executive session for the <br />purpose of consideration real property acquisition, but only as to appraisals and other <br />value estimates and strategy and the executive session include the City Council, City <br />Manager, City Attorney and Economic Development Director, seconded by Mayor Pro <br />Tem Dalton. The vote was 6 -1. Council member Stolzmann voted no. <br />The City Council adjourned to executive session at 6:08 p.m. The Special City Council <br />meeting reconvened at 7:45 p.m. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS ITEMS CONTINUED <br />REPORT — DISCUSSION /DIRECTION /ACTION — PENDING <br />LITIGATION & REAL PROPERTY ACQUISITION AND DISPOSITIONS <br />City Attorney Light reported in executive session the City Council discussed a matter <br />concerning real property acquisition in Louisville. Staff was given direction by the City <br />Council on strategies for negotiations. If the negotiations are successful and result in a <br />contract, it will be brought back for Council consideration at a regular meeting. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />MOTION: Mayor Muckle moved to adjourn, seconded by Council member Stolzmann. <br />All were in vor.
