Approval of Minutes —March 11, 2014 Special Meeting, March 18, 2014 and Special Meeting March 18, 2014 MOTION: Mayor Muckle called for changes to the Consent Agenda and hearing none, moved to approve the minutes seconded by Council member Keany. All were in favor. COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA No items to report. No items to report. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT REGULAR BUSINESS 2014 ARBOR DAY PROCLAMATION Mayor Muckle read the proclamation, which proclaimed Thursday, April 17, 2014 as Arbor Day in the City of Louisville. The proclamation urged all citizens to celebrate efforts to care for our trees and woodlands and to support the city's community forestry program. 2014 marks the 34th consecutive year the City of Louisville has been recognized as a Tree City USA. Mayor Muckle presented the proclamation to Horticulture and Forestry Advisory Board Chairperson Mike Frontczak. City Forester Lichty outlined the tree planting activities planned for the Arbor Day Celebration on Thursday, April 17th. The activities will begin at Fireside Elementary, where two fifth grade classes will participate in the planting of four trees on the Fireside Campus (Swamp White Oaks and Honey Locust). Two trees will be planted at 12:15 p.m. and two at 2:30 p.m. Horticulture and Forestry Advisory Board Chairperson Mike Frontczak thanked Mayor Muckle and the City Council for proclaiming April 17th as Arbor Day in Louisville. Mayor Muckle thanked the Horticulture and Forestry Advisory Board and the City staff for maintaining the City's urban forests. City Manager Fleming noted the trees in Louisville outnumber the residents 6 -1. UPDATE - EMERALD ASH BORER PLAN Mayor Muckle requested a staff presentation.
