Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 17, 2014 <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />Watson did say when the grain elevator does come as a landmark it would be smart to do a <br />tour. <br />Robinson said the City Attorney stated the tour would be best once the application has been <br />filed. <br />Committee Reports — <br />Historical Commission liaison <br />Fahey stated the following: <br />• On April 19th there is going to be a driving tour that is going to the Hecla Mine <br />Casino and the Grain Elevator. <br />• Mine Markers — there was going to be a CU grad student do the work but he has <br />changed his mind. <br />• There is a Needs Assessment being completed for the museum, not for historical <br />purposes but for operation purposes. <br />• The Historic Commission will be sending a liaison to our meetings. <br />• She passed out the 3rd draft of a walking tour for the buildings in town which are <br />currently on the National Registry. Fahey recommended doing another walking <br />tour of the local landmarked structures. <br />Preservation Month <br />Robinson passed out stickers. <br />Stewart stated he thought they were good. <br />Haley enjoyed the slogan. <br />Watson stated he liked the one with the green house. <br />Haley stated there could be a black and white sticker with a seal. <br />Robinson stated Erik Hartronft sent an image to use as well. It is considered the Mill <br />Site LLC logo. <br />Watson stated he liked the porte cochere in the front and liked the green horse. <br />Fahey asked if there was one with a Louisville Logo. <br />Stewart stated we should also consider bringing back the idea of creating an HPC seal. <br />Haley stated there could be a design contest to get the public involved. <br />Fahey said it could go to the schools too. <br />
