<br />LOUISVILLE, COLORADO <br /> <br />ADOPT-A-LOUISVILLE STREET POLICIES AND PROCEDURES <br /> <br />================================================================= <br /> <br />1. The adopting organization will commit to a one year period of <br />adoption. At the end of one year, the adopting organization <br />may renew or terminate the adoption. <br /> <br />2. During the one year commitment, the adopting organization <br />will remove trash from the designated roadway a minimum of <br />four times per year. <br /> <br />3. The Department of Public Works will provide the adopting <br />organization with the following: <br /> <br />* Necessary quantity of trash bags. <br />* Reflective safety vests for the participants. <br />* Portable advance warning signs, installed prior to the <br />work by City personnel. <br />* A safety meeting prior to each pickup for participants. <br /> <br />4. The Public Works Department, through the Street Division, <br />will be responsible for collection and disposal of the trash <br />bags along the roadside filled by the participants. <br /> <br />5. The Public Works Department will install a standard <br />information sign at each end of the adopted roadway segment <br />acknowledging the adopting organization. The signs will <br />remain in place throughout the adoption period. <br /> <br />6. The adopting organization agrees to participate in the <br />recycling Program by separating recycle materials prior to <br />removal by the City. <br /> <br />7. The Adopt-A-Louisville Street participants must be aware of <br />the hazardous nature of the work which is to be performed and <br />take full responsibility for any injury that could occur <br />while working along the roadway. <br />
