<br />APPROVAL OF BID AWARD - 1996 DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT <br /> <br />Tom Phare, Public Works Director, reviewed the drawings of the redevelopment project. <br /> <br />Sisk asked if the utilities would be undergound. <br /> <br />Phare stated they would, but the feed from the street property line to the residence would still be done <br />through an overhead pole. The project was scheduled to start in approximately two weeks and be <br />finished about July 10. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Council comments, questions, or motions. <br /> <br />Lathrop stated that it is a small project this year and a major project on Front Street next year. <br /> <br />Howard moved that Council award the Downtown Redevelopment Project to Wycon Construction <br />Co. in the amount of$173, 901, per their low unit price bid; authorize staff to execute Change Order <br />NO.1 increasing the project construction cost to $184, 215; authorize the Mayor to execute the <br />contract on behalf of the City and authorize staff to execute additional change orders up to 5% of the <br />contract amount for any unforeseen changes. Seconded by Levihn. Roll call was taken. Motion <br />passed by a 6 - 0 vote with Keany being absent. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1213, SERIES 1996 - APPROVING THE GRANTING OF AN <br />EASEMENT TO THE CITY OF LAFAYETTE - 2ND READING - CONTINUED PUBLIC <br />HEARING FROM 4/16/96 <br /> <br />Griffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1213, Series 1996, "An ordinance approving the granting <br />of an easement to the City of Lafayette. " <br /> <br />Tom Phare, Public Works Director, stated that this had been reviewed and approved by the Public <br />Works Department and the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Davidson opened the public hearing and called for the applicant's presentation. <br /> <br />Davidson called for anyone in the audience wishing to speak on this ordinance. <br /> <br />NONE <br /> <br />Davidson closed the public hearing and called for Council comments or motions. <br /> <br />Sisk inquired about compensation. <br /> <br />Phare stated that the compensation is a square foot cost equal to what they had paid for the land <br />when they purchased it for the project (approximately $1,500). <br /> <br />3 <br />
