BUSINESS RETENTION AND <br />DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br />SUBJECT: ICSC RETAIL CONFERENCE <br />DATE:JUNE 2, 2014 <br />PRESENTED BY: AARON DEJONG, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />SUMMARY: <br />The Mayor, City Manager and I attended the International Conference of Shopping <br />Centers (ICSC) ReCon conference in Las Vegas from May 18 through May 20, 2014. <br />We met with several of Louisville’s largest retailers and property owners. This memo is <br />a brief summary of our meetings. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The following is a list of the meetings we had in Las Vegas at the ICSC Conference. <br />Home Depot <br />We met with Beverly Metz, Western Region Real Estate representative. The store <br />continues to do well. We updated her on the US 36 construction progress. <br />King Soopers <br />We met with Randy Wright, Real Estate Director for King Soopers. The South Boulder <br />Road store is a better performing store in the region. They remain bullish on Louisville. <br />Qdoba Mexican <br />We met with Susan Beckett, our area manager. The company will be unveiling a new <br />store design soon that showcases their food preparation. She didn’t know if the Qdoba <br />in Louisville would be remodeled. They are first rolling out the new design in their new <br />stores. <br />Chipotle <br />Met with Corey Jones, the real estate manager for our area. The Louisville store is <br />doing well. <br />Walgreens <br />Met with Zackary Church. The McCaslin store is performing. The South Boulder Road <br />store is being evaluated annually. <br />Lowe’s <br />Met with Mark Stoner, area director for Lowe’s. The Louisville store is doing fine and <br />since they own the building, will continue to be operating for the foreseeable future. <br />
