<br />Current Photo <br /> <br />LANDMARK APPROVAL: <br />City Council approved the landmark application for 925 Lafarge Avenue on April 2, <br />2013. <br /> <br />REQUEST: <br />The applicant, Mark Brunner, is requesting approval of a Preservation and Restoration <br />Grant for rehabilitation work on the Porta House located at 925 Lafarge Avenue. <br /> <br />The applicant obtained a historic structure assessment for the property, completed by <br />Andy Johnson of DAJ Design and paid for by the Historic Preservation Fund. The <br />assessment (attachment 3) made one priority recommendation, to improve site <br />drainage, which the applicant intends to remedy soon. The assessment included <br />several second tier priority recommendations, including replacing the windows. The <br />windows are not original to the house, and were likely installed in the 1940s. <br /> <br />The applicant has obtained two bids for the proposed work, from Mountain View and <br />GreeneHouse Construction. The GreeneHouse bid also includes replacing the rear <br />door, for which a grant is not being requested. That cost has been removed in the <br />discussion below.
