History of Public Art in Colorado <br />The State of Colorado adopted a One Percent for the Arts Program in <br />1975, “to create enjoyment and pride for our citizens.” <br />In 1984, Loveland City staff, Chamber of Commerce, 5 artists and art <br />patrons decided to host an outdoor sculpture show. It is now the <br />largest outdoor sculpture show in North America. <br />In 1985, Loveland was the first municipality to adopt a One Percent for <br />the Arts program. <br />Colorado presently has 43 Public Art <br />Programs along the Front Range and in <br />the mountain communities. <br />And, a VERY active Public Art <br />Administrators network <br />to share Best Practices! <br />11 <br />
