Potentially this could <br />fund garden costs. <br />Goal –get approval this summer and start working on grant process. <br />VII. Sustainability Roadmap Discussion <br />3-4 sub-teams suggested <br />Recommend we break up task by LSAB mission structure. <br />Engage other boards and community members. Business retention and development groupand <br />Transition Louisville could also be potential resources. <br />Categoriesand sub-team assignments <br />1.Energy Efficiency –Jim Bradford, David Hsu <br />2.Resource Conservation –Mark Persichetti, Mary AnnHeaney, Tom Brophy (Citizen <br />Volunteer) <br />3.Localization – Justine Vigil-Tapia, ClaudiaLenz, Angie Layton (Citizen Volunteer) <br />Assignment -define what category means, community engagement strategyand tentative project <br />schedule. <br />Present information in the June meeting. <br />VIII. Zero Waste goal development <br />Met with Ellie Cabbage to learn about activities in Erie.Nothing specific noted for zero-waste. <br />Communities don’t necessarily have zero-waste as a formal item in city codes, practices. <br />Council seems more inclined to support voluntary vs. mandatory projects. <br />LSAB recommendations should include the overall justification/case for zero-waste. <br />Assignment: Review definitions of zero-waste and provide feedback as to what best describes it <br />for Louisville. <br />IX. BaselineEnergyStudy Update <br />Dave H. compiled LSAB comments and sent information to the grad student. Dave will be <br />speaking with the student on 5/23/14. <br />th <br />Study Session on July 8 <br />to review baseline Energy Study. <br />X. Fluoridation of water comments <br />Review of literature points to support of fluoridation of water. <br />Is LSAB interested in taking a position on fluoridated water? Answer is yes. Mary Ann to craft a <br />draft collective opinion for city council. <br />XI. Taste of Louisville booth coordination <br />Board members signed up for booth staffing assignments. <br />Jim to develop a survey for the event. <br /> <br />
