AUTHORIZA TION TO AWARD BID - GYMNASIUM FLOOR REFINISHING PROJECT TO FLOOR CARE SPECIALIST AUmORIZATION OF FUNDS FOR THE BOULDER COUNTY CONSORTIUM OF CITIES TRANSPORTATION PLANNING PROJECT PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA NONE COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Mayer mentioned that he had seen a bicyclist riding his bike in the bike lane going the wrong way on Via Appia. He asked that the Police Department inform bikers as to the danger of doing this. Howard thanked staff and all participants in the opening of the new ballfields. He complimented Rachel Lampa on her singing. Sisk had been contacted by some citizens regarding the abundance of mosquitos this year. Steve Baysinger, Parks & Recreation Director, stated that the City is under contract with Colorado Mosquito Control who had been putting traps out to monitor. If their next reading on the traps was not on the level where they would get into the spraying, they would continue using the fish that eat the mosquitos, controlling the mosquitos from other mechanisms than spraying. If spraying were to be done, notices would be sent out to the neighborhoods. Lathrop stated that the opening of the Sports Complex was very well done and he appreciated the commemorative ball that each Council member was given.
