SUBJECT: LOUISVILLE ECONOMIC INDICATORS AND 2015 GOALS DISCUSSION <br />DATE: JULY 7, 2014 <br />PAGE 4 OF 4 <br />c Assisting the LRC with constructing public infrastructure in the Core <br />Project Area. A TIF bond of up to $4.5 million is being considered to <br />finance the infrastructure in coordination with the DELO development. <br />• Discussions with property owners that have interest in <br />reinvesting /improving their properties. <br />• Coordination with other city staff to improve transportation infrastructure <br />along the Highway 42 corridor. <br />❑ Facilitate occupancy or redevelopment of former Sam's Club and adjacent areas <br />o Coordination with the property owner to pursue tenants for the building <br />o Conducting a conditions survey to identify blighting conditions limiting the <br />redevelopment of the property. <br />❑ Adopt and implement a plan to increase Downtown parking* <br />• Researching real estate opportunities to acquire or develop additional <br />parking supply <br />• Coordination with city staff to develop and implement a future parking plan <br />for downtown <br />❑ Improve business retention and recruitment activities <br />o Continue retention activities with existing employers <br />o Maintain relationships with the State and MetroDenver EDC in pursuing <br />primary employer recruitment <br />• Negotiate and prepare Business Assistance Agreements to incent primary <br />employers and retailers to expand or locate in Louisville <br />• Maintain and improve relationships with retail real estate brokers in the <br />area <br />• Facilitate forums to hear from practitioners about the area market <br />conditions <br />• Assist retailers interested in the area to evaluate locations <br />• Pursue retailers that are not in the community and their offerings are not <br />available in town. <br />Staff would like the committee to discuss these goals, and what actions staff may <br />improve or expand to meet the goals laid out for 2014. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />This information is for discussion purposes. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />1) April 2014 Tax Revenue Report. <br />2) BAP award spreadsheet <br />3) Retail Broker Roundtable responses <br />8 <br />
