Pt,L uisvlle
Golf Course Advisory Board _Minutes'
June 16 2014
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
#15 tee and build the bathroom there if funding is available. This allows
the use of a smaller pump which has been placed on
order. Excel Energy has quoted an exorbitant sum $100K to run single -
phase power to the new pump location. Work on HWY 36 has yielded an
unexpected benefit. The contractor (Granite) has requested permission
to encroach on the golf course property to build, at their expense, a line
of landscaped berms with associated drainage and trees between the
highway and the #16 fairway. This will provide a more attractive view for
both the highway and the golf course and may help mitigate traffic noise,
d. Update on "flood / runoff mitigation plans and schedules. This topic was
discussed during public comments.
e. Review current status and plans for Hole #4 cart path. This topic was
discussed during public comments.
f. Any project concerns / issues:
• The new bunkers will require more hand work to maintain but should
suffer less sand erosion
• Brian Harris noted that saving money on the proposed bathroom by
adopting a vault design was unlikely to be satisfactory
• The meeting agreed that a very conservative approach to winter golf
should be taken. No free golf and temporary greens should be used
while the regular greens were covered during the critical months.
• We should continue to review opening the driving range at the earliest
opportunity.
• Chris Bradford noted that the software used to run the irrigation system
was up -to -date and would not need to be enhanced.
Item 7 Adjourn- The meeting adjourned at 8:OOpm. Ken Gambon proposed.
Sandy Stewart seconded.
The next GCAB meeting is July 21 2014 at 6:30PM in the Library.
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT • 749 MAIN STREET • LOUISVILLE, CO 80027
(303) 335,4735 FAX (303) 3354738
www.Iou isvil leco.gov
PARKS RECREATION SENIOR SERVICES OPEN SPACE FORESTRY TRAILS
GOLF
4
