I would like to have the add alternates on the next GCAB
meeting agenda for discussion. Based on some things that Kevin Norby is recommending, I am attempting to
schedule a special meeting specifically to discuss (with Kevin and LU in attendance) and finalize add alternates. In
that same context, I am asking LU to validate available funding within the GMP for add alternates.
I am sharing this e -mail with GCAB in that you raise some excellent questions that are of interest to everyone. This
is for informational purposes and is not meant for e -mail exchanges or GCAB discussion per City Charter
requirements.
On a related note, Granite Construction (CDOT) has an access permit and is working on a nice berm that will be
worth at least $150,000 to the City when complete with landscaping and final shaping. design by Herford Norby
and installation by LU, no additional cost to the City. A few photos are attached.
Poe Stev acd
Director of Parks and Recreation
City of Louisville, Colorado
(303) 335 -4731
foes a,louisvilleco.gov
From: Joe Stevens
Sent: Friday, July 11, 2014 1:40 PM
To: Malcolm Fleming
Subject: FW: Coal Creek Add Alternates
Malcolm,
I have asked LU to update their numbers and know that we have two significant outstanding adjustments which
will impact add alternates. One is a $65,000 add for the additional worked required for the pond liners and the 2 "d
is the outstanding excel electrical issue and the cost for generators to power the booster pump. LU most recently
projected $250,000 is available for add alternates. I am hopeful that we may be able to save dollars somewhere
else and come up with a little more. This item will be on the July GCAB agenda and I am trying to schedule a
special meeting on -site, with GCAB ,to discuss add alternates with both the golf course architect and LU.
Brian Vitek is the lead for LU and I have repeatedly posed the question about sequencing and add alternates and
Brian has consistently shared that the City has not lost the opportunity to consider all outstanding add alternates.
I have taken LU at their word. The immediate focus is pond liners and getting to the point to start seeding. On
Monday, LU brought 8 more employees on board to help.
I share some of Sandy's observations but the entire team is working toward the same goal. Unfortunately the
comment that Jeff Matthews made in the presence of GCAB was not helpful, necessary or accurate and is not
shared by Brian or Kevin Norby.
Poe Ste evc4
Director of Parks and Recreation
9
