Commissioner Lipton – You have not provided a reason why a load path precluded a discussion
of re-routing.

Mr. Diehl – Valmont to Louisville line is a clear path to Valmont. You are asking us the re-rout
around Louisville. We don’t have a line to back feed into Valmont.

Commissioner McDermott – are we really talking about the 90-ft poles or are they 75-ft pole.

Mr. Diehl – the poles that have been ordered that are 10-15 ft higher then the existing pole.

Paul Wood– to help the discussion I proposed that we pull the map and enter it into record.

Staff Summary:

The Commission may restate its intent on the original findings (Commission Resolution No. 12,
Series 2000) and make further findings, conclusions and recommendation. You also have the
option for continuance of the public hearing. You can direct the staff to draft the Commission’s
findings, conclusions and recommendations, and bring the written materials back for verification
and final adoption on January 9, 2001.

Applicant Summary:

We believe that our proposal is in keeping with the criteria for Special Review Use permit
reviews. The proposal is consistent with the Louisville Comprehensive Plan for 45 years. We are
increasing the capacity of this line, which will improve the general welfare and economics
prosperity of the city.

Our lives are dependent on electricity and no other industry is as essential to our safety and well
being.

Public Hearing Closed / Commission Comments / Vote:

Commissioner Kalish: – We have some interesting information for alternative paths and would
like to have the city work with PSCo, to come up with alternative that we can figure out together.
And continue to the January meeting. Hear additional information and reach some sort of
agreement for alternative proposals.

Commissioner McDermott: I’m feeling out of the loop. I need more information to evaluate the
alternatives. –

Commissioner Leh – City and PSCo need to go the hearing of PUC and work on a peace path.
Likes Debra idea. We need to continue to explore alternatives and come up with something that
works for both of us.

13
