DRAFT Wood requested direction from the Commission regarding the suggested edits from the City Attorney. Lipton asked for Commission comments or objections to the edits. None heard. He directed Staff to incorporate those edit in the next printed version. He also requested the numbering of the pages. Commission took a short break at 7:45 PM. Lipton called the meeting back to order and requested the staff presentation for Chapter 2 – Existing Conditions. Simmons discussed and summarized Chapter 3 with a set of overhead transparencies that covered the following topics: land use, population, transportation, economic development (sales tax), housing, community character and design, community services and utilities. Kathy McCormick, McCormick and Associates, lead a discussion of housing based on pages 2- 21 thru 2-27. The following topics were discussed: 1) employment and commuting; 2) housing and employment; and 3) housing unit growth. Jeremy Call, EDAW, discussed existing land use issues and how those issues relate to Chapter 3. He illustrated his discussion with a power point presentation and a land use map which identified seven opportunity areas.
