Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 18, 2014 <br />Page 8 of 9 <br />Robinson stated the State is working on new handouts and would let us know when the <br />brochures are ready. <br />Committee Reports — none <br />Update on Demolition Requests - 504 Spruce, 823 Garfield <br />Trice gave the following updates: <br />504 Spruce — replace the roof, released at subcommittee due to no impact <br />823 Garfield — remove rear wrap around porch, released because it was not very visual. <br />Update on Alteration Certificate Requests — 1001 Main Street (Tomeo House) , 740 <br />Front <br />Trice gave the following updates: <br />1001 Main Street — replace the basement door, released <br />740 Front Street — wood siding on north elevation, subcommittee referred this to the full <br />HPC and applicants removed request. <br />Discussion /Comments on Planning Department Referrals — Hutchinson Update <br />Trice stated staff continues to work on this project, which will include a phase I <br />archaeological review prior to and during construction. <br />Stewart stated the archeological review is a welcome addition. <br />Updates — Preservation Master Plan <br />Robinson stated staff has issued an RFP and we received 9 proposals. We are working <br />with Watson to determine how HPC will be involved in the final review. <br />Stewart asked if that was a one year process. <br />Robinson answered yes, hopefully less. <br />Items from Staff — none <br />Items from Commission Members — <br />Fasick stated there was a presentation by Mr. Buffo, who lives in Louisville, regarding the <br />Hecla Mine. She stated it was very interesting and was hoping he might be able to come to <br />the HPC for a presentation. <br />Fahey stated it was Ron Buffo and he presents at brown bag lunch programs. <br />
