Local Licensing Authority <br />Minutes <br />August 25, 2014 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />would be no outside service. Tennessen seconded. Permit approved. <br />Machado absent. <br />B. Transfer Application — Downtown Dining LLC d /b /a Madera Grill — <br />Hotel and Restaurant Liquor License — 817 Main Street <br />Chairperson Carlson introduced the transfer application for Downtown Dining <br />LLC d /b /a Madera Grill. He noted this is a transfer of the license currently <br />held by the Louisville Rex. He called for any Authority discussion and noted <br />the applicant was in the audience to answer any questions. Lipton asked the <br />applicant if he was familiar with the seller /server training offered by the Police <br />Department. The applicant responded he had heard good reports <br />concerning the training and noted many of the current staff had attended. <br />Lipton moved the Authority approve the transfer application for a hotel and <br />restaurant license to Downtown Dining LLC d /b /a Madera Grill. Tennessen <br />seconded. All in favor. Transfer approved. Machado absent. <br />Police Department Reports <br />Chairperson Carlson asked if the last Street Faire went okay from police <br />enforcement perspective. Officer Redard responded it had. <br />Secretary's Report <br />Hanson noted the study session with City Council would be held on Tuesday, <br />August 26, 2014 in the Library meeting room. Carlson reported he would attend. <br />Authority Attorney's Report <br />No report. <br />Authority Comment and Discussion Items for next meeting <br />Lipton inquired about the school going in close to the marijuana businesses. <br />Authority Attorney Culley stated the school would not prevent the businesses <br />from operating, but might limit their ability to change location depending on the <br />timing of the approvals and the 1,320 foot distance requirement. Lipton asked <br />about the day care near Spice China. Authority Attorney Culley noted the liquor <br />establishment separation is 500 feet and only applies to schools, not day care. <br />Adjourn — Lipton moved to adjourn. Tennessen seconded. All in favor. The <br />meeting was adjourned at 7:22 p.m. <br />
