Next steps for us:
Meeting with community partners
Meet with potential development partners Meet with city staff, BCHA
Operations and Maintenance Staff
Develop a financing strategy
Refine site plan
Market study to know what will lease up and what phases to target first
Frank said one of the things we talked about as we executed the IGA was the need for the
board's help participating in the community. There is a lot of opportunity. Balfour exists across
from the property; we hope they could be a partner that would want to support the senior
building.
Those local connections and ideas are going to be critical as we build support and get these
projects off the ground. Think about the donors, partners, financial and work force side, people
running small businesses in Lafayette. These groups struggle when their work force is located far
from their businesses. Let us know if you have people we should access in the community to
help with the outreach process. This becomes the exciting phase, a great opportunity to build
new partnerships, bring in new financing, corporate partners. The local hospital sat on our
advisory board in Lafayette because they have huge needs for the work force.
Walt said it is going to be important to have community support for this. That's why he wants to
inform the seniors so they can provide support. He's interested in being part of our outreach and
education efforts.
Matters from Members of the Board
Discussion of 2014 LHA board meetings
a) Determine a schedule for 2014 LHA Board meetings
b) Determine date for next meeting at Lydia Morgan, 1450 Lincoln Ave., Louisville
c) Meeting adjourned at 9:20
* *Any member of the Public may speak on any subject not related to the agenda.
