Local Licensing Authority
Minutes
September 22, 2014
Tennessen – yes, Machado – yes, Carlson – yes and Hughes – yes. Show
cause ordered.
C.Incident Report – Lucky Pie – 9/1/2014
Carlson commented this looked like an event where persons got off a party bus
and had an altercation in the parking lot. Authority members discussed the
establishment’s responsibility for the conduct in the parking lot, reporting
disturbances and responsibility when the restaurant was closed. It was noted
some of the persons involved were employees of Lucky Pie.
Sergeant Lanphere asked if it was reasonable to ask an establishment to have
control of their parking lot on a 24 hour basis. He did suggest aletter to the
owner might be appropriate letting him know the employees were evasive and
did not exhibit the behavior expected.
D.Incident Report – LuLu’s – 9/6/2014
This incident involved a stop by police on report of a possible drunk driver. The
driver report having been drinking at LuLu’s. Carlson noted the connection to
LuLu’s was not firmly established. Authority members concurred and decided
there was no further action to be taken by them.
Secretary’s Report
Secretary Hanson reported she had issuedaSpecial Events Permit for American
th
Legionfor a 90anniversary celebration. The application was timed right to be
presented to the Authority.
Authority Attorney’s Report
No report.

Authority Commentand Discussion Items for next meeting
Authority member Tennessen presented an article concerning an entertainment
district in Glendale which had allowed an establishment to extend their hours of
service beyond 2 a.m. Carlson thanked Tennessen for bringing the article to the
Authority’s attention and noted proposed legislation which would allow
manufacturers, breweries and vintners, to participate in common consumption
areas.
Adjourn
– Tennessen moved to adjourn. Lipton seconded. All in favor. The
meeting was adjourned at 7:49p.m.
