OWNER RESPONSIBILITY FOR SEWER LEAD MAINTENANCE
In Louisville, it is the property owner's responsibility to repair and maintain the sewer lead from the house to the
City owned sewer. It is not unusual for a sewer lead to require cleaning or repair. However, before you undertake
an expensive repair or call in a cleaning contractor, you should contact the City to ensure that the City's sewer
line is functioning properly. By doing this, you can avoid expense and inconvenience. If you are experiencing
problems with your sewer lead and feel the City's sewer line should be checked, please contact the Public Works
Department, Operations Division at 303-666-0124. Normal hours for the Operations Division are Monday
through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. If you have an emergency after normal business hours, please call Boulder
Emergency Dispatch at 303-441-4444 and ask that an Operations Technician be dispatched.
The Public Works Department, Operation Division routinely cleans all sewer lines in the City to insure a reliable,
safe and convenient sewer system. Even though lines are routinely cleaned, however, they can become
obstructed. Please do not hesitate to contact the Operations Division if you feel there is a block in the sewer.
We appreciate your help.
