Call to Order & Introductions: Commission Chair Dan Mellish (DM) called the meeting <br />to order at 6:37PM <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Commission Members Present: Dan Mellish, Gladys Levis -Pilz, Anne Robinson, Steve <br />Domenico, Tom Brennan, and Paula Elrod <br />Commission Members Absent: Lynn Koglin, Dave Ferguson, and Jonathon Ferris <br />City Representatives Present: <br />Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator <br />Beth Barrett, Director of Library and Museum Services <br />Jayme Moss, City Council <br />III. Approval of Agenda: Members approved the agenda. <br />IV. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: <br />A. Dan Mellish (DM) introduced Jayme Moss who was appointed to be the City <br />Council representative for Ward I until the 2014 election. <br />V. Approval of the July 2, 2014 LHC meeting and the July 25, 2014 and August 8, 2014 <br />subcommittee meeting minutes: The minutes were approved. <br />VI. Report from the Director of Library & Museum Services: Beth Barrett reported: <br />A. Beth and Bridget reviewed seven proposals to conduct the Needs Assessment (NA) <br />for a new museum building in conjunction with the Louisville History Foundation (LHF) <br />and the Louisville Facilities Manager. They used a weighted evaluation tool. The cost <br />was very similar across all of the proposals, and some came from local firms, while <br />others came from distant locations. Ultimately they chose Metcalfe Architecture and <br />Design based in Philadelphia, PA. This group is experienced and seemed to be in sync <br />with what we are looking for. The Louisville City Manager approved of the choice. A <br />timeline and a structure for gathering public input will be developed.
