The draft language of the interpretive <br />sign is as follows: <br />The Acme Mine was the primary coal <br />rnine in Louisville, Colorado from 1888 to <br />1928. The mine was an integral part of <br />life in Louisville, and as such, mining <br />culture has forever impacted the <br />community. During its tenure, Acme <br />produced over 1.7 million tons of coal and <br />its main shaft was over 185 feet deep.
