All in favor.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
APPROVAL OF BILLS
APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER - LOUISVILLE ARBORETUM
CORRECTION OF PUBLIC HEARING DATE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 1242,
SERIES 1996 - AMENDING THE PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT
REGULA TIONS TO MEET PUBLICATION REQUIREMENTS

PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

Patricia Butler, 777 West Mulberry, Louisville, Colorado, representing her neighbors on Mulberry
Street, asked that a speed bump be installed on their street due to the fast traffic around all of the
children on the street. They liked the one on Hoover.

Mayer asked that the speed be clocked on Mulberry.

Tom McAvinew, 229 Lois Drive, Louisville, Colorado, took an opposing view. He did not feel that
speeding was a problem in Louisville or that speed bumps were effective. He found it particularly
irritating that he could not go at the legally posted speed limit safely, comfortably over that speed
bump. He reported that a neighbor of his had gone over the speed bump on Hoover and was in
terrible pain from being jostled. He pointed out that the police, fire department, and EMT's regularly
exceed the speed limit when on call, which could be a rude awakening when they hit the bump. He
wondered how the snow plows would fare. He felt the speed bump on Hoover should have had
flashing lights there and been publicized for the public's information. He stated the bump was an
impediment to the normal flow of traffic.

COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS
NOT ON THE AGENDA

Levihn stated that in Boulder the signs by the speed bumps are lower and closer to the speed bump
than Louisville's are. The white markings in Boulder go over top of the speed bump and in Louisville
you do not see the markings until you get very close to the bump.

Mayer pointed out that it is a speed hump not bump. He stated that child safety is paramount.

2
