L
City at
-
Louisville
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA ITEM 1
SUBJECT:
DATE:
CULTURAL ARTS MASTER PLAN
NOVEMBER 10, 2014
PRESENTED BY: SUZANNE JANSSEN, CULTURAL ARTS/
SPECIAL EVENT COORDINATOR
LCC CULTURAL ARTS MASTER PLAN COMMITTEE
SUMMARY:
Beginning in mid - November, City staff, working in conjunction with the Louisville
Cultural Council and an advisory committee comprised of representatives of community
arts organizations and artists, will begin research for a city -wide Cultural Arts Master
Plan. Through the research and data gathering process (which will involve extensive
public feedback), visions and objectives to support and strengthen local creative
industries and artists will be established. Staff will identify available resources and
opportunities to better serve the Arts community, as well as identify potential
collaborations to maximize available resources. The Plan will develop strategies to
provide a "road map" to reaching these community visions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The primary fiscal impact will be staff workload /salary with slight operation expenses
incurred during the public meeting process. Overall expenses have been accounted for
the 2015 budget cycle and are estimated at $600.00. Operating and capital
recommendations based upon the Cultural Arts Master Plan will be suggested and
forecast for future budgeting cycles as appropriate.
RECOMMENDATION:
Discussion
ATTACHMENT(S):
1.
