• Since LU will provide the bulk of the maintenance equipment for the grow -in
period, the City can delay buying maintenance equipment until close to the
opening date.
• LU, as general contractor, is responsible for fulfilling all warranty obligations
including for work done by Herfort Norby and Irrigation technology. Most
workmanship is covered by a one year warranty.
• The question on whether to charge fees for the punchbowl green was raised
without any conclusion being reached.
• The plan is to discontinue the Summit and Peak Players Clubs once outstanding
obligations have been met and use a punchcard system in their place. The
punchcard data is stored on the computer so lost cards will not be an issue. In
2013, there were only 32 Summit Club members and 12 of these are likely to
continue as members at Colorado National with an annual fee of $1800.
• The small bulldozer is repaired and back in service. The laser- guided tractor is still
in service although it produces excessive smoke due to engine damage.
• The changes to the course design will require a new course and slope rating.
• Ken noted that some points adjacent to the cart paths are already showing signs of
damage that could have been prevented by added curbing. Since curbing has to
be poured when the cart path is laid, we have missed the opportunity to do this.
David Dean accepted the task of providing a rough surface at problem areas to
keep carts from causing damage.
7b. Website and Software Update
Kathy Martin (Recreation and Senior Services Superintendent) reported as follows:
• The new City website is days away from being launched and this will include
websites for the Library, the Rec Center and the Golf course, all with a similar look
and feel.
• The Board was asked if there were any pre -flood photographs of the golf course
that could be used in the website graphics.
• The City has contracted with Vision Net to create the new website
• The website will coordinate with the software suites specific to golf course
operations. Several software packages are under consideration: Active golf
solutions, Golftrack, Easy Links and Club Prophet with Club Prophet being the
currently preferred solution. All solutions include modules for merchandising and
pricing, tee time bookings and point -of -sale operations. Club Prophet is used by
Indian Peaks and the City of Aurora golf courses.
• Club Prophet on -line bookings do not require a booking fee. It was noted that
Indian Peaks sees only 20% of reservations being made on -line. The system uses
secure protocols and will take a credit card number at the time of booking.
