She asked Council to
review the report and provide comments before the next DRCOG meeting in December.
She explained in general, the statements support collaboration, but leave each
jurisdiction their independence. She reminded the City Council the Senior Center will be
celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow afternoon.
Council member Loo requested the Council revisit the agenda process for City Council
Meetings and Study Sessions. She proposed front and back loading the agendas. She
suggested in June of 2016, the two regular Council meetings be scheduled for June 2
and June 9 and the two study sessions be eliminated. The next regular City Council
meeting would be July 7. As there are five Tuesdays in June, Council could have 27
days off. Mayor Pro Tem Dalton voiced his support for revising the June schedule.
Mayor Muckle was generally supportive, but was concerned over a compressed budget
process. He asked City Manager Fleming to review the June 2016 City Council meeting
schedule and in particular, the calendar for the budget process. City Manager Fleming
would look into the schedule. He felt something could be worked out.
Council member Leh stated he was very happy to be a member of the City Council. He
voiced his deep appreciation to fellow City Council candidates Susan Honstein and
Cory Nickerson for the way they ran their campaigns. He felt it was a very issue -
orientated campaign and voiced his appreciation for their professionalism and civic
mindedness.
