Youth Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 6, 2014 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />The second project is a sustainability roadmap to present to city council. They <br />are gathering feedback from all the boards about this and would like to come to <br />another meeting after the beginning of the year to collect ideas. <br />VII. Nominations, speeches and elections for Officer positions <br />The elections were held and our officers for the 2014 -2015 term are: <br />Chairperson- Isabella McHugh <br />Vice Chairperson- Tyler Waters <br />Secretary- Brigitte Calder -Ward <br />CONGRATULATIONS! <br />VIII. Goals for the year- discussion <br />YAB Members split into two groups to plan a proposal about what our focus <br />should be this year: a safety group and a "fun" group. The safety group proposed <br />planning one big event to tackle bullying, drug use, and suicide prevention. The <br />fun group proposed working on convincing Louisville residents they need a new <br />outdoor pool. A vote was taken, and the YAB decided to focus on the pool <br />project. <br />IX. Monthly Volunteer Projects <br />• November: Community Food Share @ King Soopers on Monday, <br />Nov. 24th (9- 11:30am) and /or Tuesday, Nov. 25th (9- 11:30am)- a <br />signup sheet was passed around for these shifts. <br />• December: Dessert & Story Time with Santa, Wednesday, <br />December 10th <br />• January- Suzanne wants to talk about a partnership project with the <br />Louisville Cultural Council. <br />X. Vote- change date for the January meeting <br />The Youth Advisory Board voted YES to move the date of the January meeting <br />from January 1 st to January 8th <br />XI. Other Boards and Commissions <br />Brigitte went to the Historical Commission meeting, where they discussed- <br />• having buildings advertise their energy statistics <br />• expansion of the Louisville History Museum <br />• the upcoming new website <br />• old LSV Times newspapers coming to the library <br />• museum open house during the Parade of Lights <br />• Pioneer Award- was handed out. <br />XII. Eyes and Ears <br />None <br />
