I
PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF COLORADO
Boulder, Colorado
February 17, 1950
Honorable Mayor and
Town Council
Louisville, Colorado
Gentlemen:
After our numerous discussions relative to the installation of a
whiteway system in the business area of Louisville, we wish to advise
that the Public Service Company of Colorado will install ten (10)
16,000 lumin mercury vapor lamps; 8 on Main Street and 2 on Pine
Street, without cost to the Town.
Because of the narrowness of the sidewalks on these streets, we believe
it will be desirable to mount most of these lights back on the prop-
erty line and extend them out over the street on either 8 or 12 foot
mastarms. These lights are to be mounted on wooden poles and the
wires connected to them will be overhead.
These 10 mercury vapor lights will replace four 600Dlumin incandescent
lamps and one 1,000 lumin incandescent lamp. The operation of these
units will be billed to the Town at the rate of $75.00 per unit per
year. The Public Service Company, at its expense, will maintain the....
units complete, as well as the complete fixtures and replace all ~~
lamps as they burn out. This new system will increase the effective-
ness of illumination in this business area from ten to fifteen times
the present illumination.
On the approval of the Town Board of the installation of this system
and the authorization of the annual operating cost, the Public Service
Company will begin at once to acquire .right-of-way and the installation
of the equipment.
Very truly yours,
~~~~~ :~
F. S. Henderson
District Manager ~
FSH:jw
