Open Space Advisory Board
Minutes
January 14th, 2014
along with staff’s comments, at the November 2014 meeting. Urban Drainage changed
the trail alignment through Harney Lastoka. Staff suggested the trail align with the
current wayfinding system plan. Urban Drainage may build a pedestrian bridge to
connect to the wayfinding trail alignment, if not the trail itself. They added a boardwalk
to the planned trail area where they would allow some periodic flooding to allow for tree
growth. They also changed the planned drop structures to be more naturalistic and less
wall-like. Ember feels that this project has a good design team and Urban Drainage has
been good to work with. Lafayette and Boulder County, the other co-owners of this land,
are in agreement about the proposed changes in the plan.

IX. Board Updates
a) Helen had a meeting with the Mayor.
b) OSAB and the City Council will be meeting for a brainstorming session. Council has
decided that we should meet in a normally-scheduled City Council session. The available
dates are January 27th (when the meeting agenda is fairly minimal) and February 24th
(when the meeting agenda is pretty full). The board selected January 27th, hoping that a
lighter agenda would foster a better discussion. Three or four board members indicated
that they would be available to attend the meeting.

X. Public Comments for Items Not on the Agenda- None

XI.
