Louisville, Colorado, property located north
of South Street alignment and west of Lincoln
Avenue which is owned by the St. Louis Catho-
lic Church." Proof of publication and notice
of public hearing were established by City
C:Lerk.
Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing and
asked if anyone was present that wished to
speak to this Ordinance. There was no one
wishing to speak.
Mayor Fauson moved and Davidson seconded to
adopt Ordinance #1019, Series 1990. By Roll
Call Vote motion passed 6-0.
ORDINANCE #1020, SERIES 1990 - ST. The council may
amend the zoning ordinance.
APPLICANT: Bob Beauquez, representing St. Louis Church.
The church is planning to build a K-8 school
on the site in question. Currently we offer
K-5 for students. We feel that St. Louis has
survived because of the commitment by the
parish. We believe that a quality of educa-
tion is an important part of our life. The
church purchased the old Harney land a few
years back in anticipation of expanding our
school and church. A building committee was
formed last year to set this idea into mo-
tion. There have been a number of rumors
about this project and need to be addressed.
We did contact your staff and did ask what
type of zoning would be appropriate for a
schoolfchurch on this site. Staff examined
the city map and noted that it was surrounded
5
