Hornbostel suggested having a work session regarding all the ideas from the community. It was also suggested that this issue be brought up at each of the ward meetings that are being held. Mayor Fauson asked that the Finance Committee look into the funding far this project, then bring this back to Council an the 17th of 3uly far approval. It was also suggested that the Finance Committee look into seeing how this could be a positive financial experience rather than being a negative financial experience. 1990 .BUDGET AMENDMENT FUNDING REQUEST - ADDITIONAL STAFFING - LIBRARY Bob Tafte, Member of the Louisville Library Board of Trustees. Ta.Ete stated he is requesting that the Council allocate $8,200 to increase staffing at the new library by .8 of fu]'.l time person. This would raise our staff from 5.7 FTE to 6.5 FTE for the remainder of 1990. Several problems have occurred now that the new library is open. Same issues are coverage of the building, service to the patrons of the library is suffering, the number {~f ckiildren's programs has been reduced, books are being left misshelved, not enough staff time to adequately train and supervise volunteers and not enough time for public relations activities, not enough time to retrieve lost books.
