It would cost $12.00 a year <br />'~~o participate per household. <br />Discussion by Council werz concerns <br />about the type of contains that were <br />k~eing used and if they would be to heavy <br />t.o lift, when the haulers would be <br />picking up, and how to defray cosh for <br />the containers. <br />Hornbostel suggested having a work <br />session regarding all the ideas from the <br />community. <br />It was also suggested that this issue be <br />brought up at each of the ward meetings <br />that are being held. <br />Mayor Fauson asked that the Finance <br />Committee look into the funding far this <br />project, then bring this back to Council <br />an the 17th of 3uly far approval. It <br />was also suggested that the Finance <br />Committee look into seeing how this <br />could be a positive financial experience <br />rather than being a negative financial <br />experience. <br />1990 .BUDGET AMENDMENT FUNDING REQUEST - ADDITIONAL STAFFING - <br />LIBRARY <br />Bob Tafte, Member of the Louisville Library Board of Trustees. <br />Ta.Ete stated he is requesting that the <br />Council allocate $8,200 to increase <br />staffing at the new library by .8 of <br />fu]'.l time person. This would raise our <br />staff from 5.7 FTE to 6.5 FTE for the <br />remainder of 1990. Several problems <br />have occurred now that the new library <br />is open. Same issues are coverage of <br />the building, service to the patrons of <br />the library is suffering, the number {~f <br />ckiildren's programs has been reduced, <br />books are being left misshelved, not <br />enough staff time to adequately train <br />and supervise volunteers and not enough <br />time for public relations activities, <br />not enough time to retrieve lost books. <br />One thing that the people at the library <br />are saying is that they do not have <br />enough time to help people when they <br />5 <br />
