<br /> <br />Minutes Submitted for Approval 2 <br />X. Election of Officers, Mark Oberholzer elected Chair, Angie Layton elected <br />Vice Chair, Lawrence Anderson elected Treasurer, and Tammy Pelnik <br />elected Secretary <br /> <br />XI. Discussion of meetings and summer month schedule. Motion was made <br />and approved to have meetings start at 6:30 on the third Thursday of <br />the month in Spruce Conference Room. Discussed summer schedule. <br />No decision was made as to whether to hold regular meetings during <br />the summer, however, general consensus was that it is important to <br />have at least one meeting during the summer months. <br /> <br />XII. Public Comments on “Items Not on the Agenda”: Denice commented that <br />she enjoyed her time on the LCC and volunteered to help at events <br />and help transition the new treasurer. She also noted that she needs <br />to transfer the PO Box key to someone on the council (Box #895). <br /> <br />XIII. Treasurer’s Report - Lawrence provided treasurer report which was <br />attached to Cultural Council packet. We had approximately $3,000 in <br />income during the 2014 year. <br /> <br />XIV. Report on programming – <br /> <br /> Coffeehouse (November 2014) – Sweet Spot Trio – not as well attended <br />as could hope, but group was very good. <br /> NaNoWriMo (also November) – approximately 20 participants, Library <br />staff was very excited about the program and are making plans for next year. <br />Will endeavor to capture data about participants better next year. <br /> <br />Committee Overviews – <br /> <br /> Marketing Committee – Darin is chair. One meeting so far, will be <br />meeting Thursday at 8:30a.m. at City Hall. Need to work on outreach to <br />community and increasing event visibility. Goal is to distribute posters 4 – 7 days <br />in advance of each event. <br /> Sunday Chamber – Lawrence is chair. Mary Matthews is assisting in <br />programming. <br /> Friday Night Live – Liz is chair, will be working on family friendly <br />programming. Spring programs are in the works. (See schedule attached to <br />packet). <br /> Spoken Word (Angie’s Lit) – NaNoWriMo is completed, working on <br />Young Writer’s conference for April in conjunction with Library, Spellbinders <br />would like to do a program, possible poetry slam in the future, also working with <br />Library to do some kind of writing event in conjunction with their Summer <br />Reading Program.
