restricted.) Each affordable unit shall be maintained as such for a period of not less <br /> than 40 consecutive years from the date of imtial occupancy of the unit. <br /> b. Preference Policy. In addition to the requirements of paragraph a above, and the <br /> qualifying income requirements,the preferences described m this paragraph b shall be <br /> applied`m the selection of residents associated with the age-restricted and affordable <br /> units described above. Specifically, for a period of three years from the date of initial <br /> occupancy of the unit, BCHA and any entity(ies) which own, control or manage the <br /> age-restricted or affordable units shall first favor applicants displaced as a result of <br /> the 2013 flood disaster. Subordmate to the flood preference, BCHA and any <br /> entity(ies) which own, control or manage the age-restricted or affordable units shall <br /> apply the local preferences described m (1) through (iii) below m determining the <br /> placement of an applicant on the waiting hst(s) for initial or subsequent lease of the <br /> age-restricted or affordable units, so that applicants having a preference shall be <br /> selected from the waiting list and receive an opportunity for an available unit earlier <br /> than those who do not have a preference. Each of the preferences listed in <br /> subparagraphs (i) and (iii)below shall have equal weight in determining the order of <br /> an applicant's placement on the waiting list. The preferences shall include the <br /> following: <br /> (i) Current residents: A household in which one or more members is living <br /> within the City of Louisville at the time of application. Documentation of <br /> residency should be provided, such as rent receipts, utility bills, street <br /> listing or voter registration listing; <br /> (ii)Employees of Local Businesses and Governmental Entities Employees of <br /> businesses located in the City of Louisville or local governments operating <br /> in the City of Louisville, and mdividuals with offers of employment from <br /> businesses located in the City of Louisville or local governments operating <br /> m the City of Louisville; or <br /> (m)Relocating Family Member Individuals who are over the age of 62, or <br /> disabled, who are seeking to move to the City of Louisville to be in <br /> proximity of immediate family who already reside in the City of <br /> Louisville. <br /> With the exception of the flood preference, the above-stated preferences shall be <br /> applied to all age-restricted and affordable units described in paragraph a above for a <br /> period of not less than fifteen years from the date of initial occupancy of the unit. <br /> BCHA and any entity(ies) which own, control or manage the age-restricted or <br /> affordable units shall inform applicants about available preferences, and provide an <br /> opportunity for applicants to show that they qualify for available preferences. <br /> The above-stated preferences shall be given equal or greater weight than any other <br /> preferences extended for age-restricted and affordable units. It is acknowledged that <br /> preferences will affect only the order of applicants on the waiting list, and shall not <br /> 3 <br />
